We are deep into the Silly Season
when the caves of dream merchants
are almost spinning in a whirl,
so it's coming on Christmas
or so Joni used to sing
way back when
she was just a bright eyed slip of girl.
Can we still say that?
Or is this another thing banned
beyond meaning,
thought crime that needs cleaning,
a gender diminutive
and two "C" words
that could bring potential images of infamy,
maybe even light a neural synapse
or even two.
Kill the Riddick !
Kill the Riddick !
Wipe out the Riddick thought !
We ought to have grown up more than that by now,
don't you think?
Sorry,
forgot we're not supposed to think
for ourselves;
I better watch the News
so I know what I should know
to hold the views I should hold,
accepted,
already pre-digested,
‘cause gods forbid
I might come upon an idea on my own,
based only upon honest information.
Oh no, there's one of those words again
when will these traps of treachery ever end?

I'm with you Icebox, I'm sick to death of political correctness. I enjoyed your thoughts on the subject. Whatever happened to "sticks and stones....." Uh oh, Is that a politically incorrect
saying now?
