Then the ball hangs,
the teeth clatter and chang,
to tomorrows sympathies,

Of what is lost,
laying in the ruins,
the pieces and rubble,

Broken fragments,
of perfect lives,
deaths timeclock,

Ticks even faster,
the race against time,
has never been won,

Only in death,
for eternity,
time is no lord,

Rewind is not an option,
you are the magnet,
every piece,

comes, by choice,
sticking, clinging,
pulling you down,

heaveier, heavier,
breaking your soul,
until life becomes death,
death becomes life,

only then are you free...
to be born again,
to start anew,

Wisdom gained,
but at what cost?
what price was paid?

Hi Romantic,
I believe this is the first time I have read your work. You really do have a wonderful talent; your words very moving and I was very much taken in by the stroke of your pen.

I like the ending very much too, which is kind of a rhetoroc thing going on; almost like,
'have we learned anything at all' to my mind.
Sad but so very true.

Well done,

illusive x

Thank you, and yes, it is true,
after all this time, money, effort,
what have we learned as the human race?

What have we gained? or have we taken two
steps back, instead of one step forward!

Your insight was spot on...as they say in
jolly old England!

Romantic...

Everything does come with a price,
some that I cannot afford.

Great writing
