I remember

I remember the time
When i wished I was old
To do what I want
Don't need to be told

I remember the time
About half way there
Dabbled and played
In my world not a care

I remember the time
When first love was found
Couldn't be better
Feet don't touch the ground

I remember the time
I finally hit older
True love and my girls
A lot on my shoulder

I remember the time
Forever to be
Enough to inscript
Mountain's crumble to sea

I remember the time
'Cause it rings in my ear
I love you, but sorry
I'm leaving my dear

The thought of loves lies
Burns hot like the ember
And I try to forget
Because it hurts to remember

Thanks ~ARH.

It does, but I'm finding this form of expression helps a little.
Thanks for reading.

I remember all of that as well. Life has its sweet moments ~ as well as the bitter ones.
There are times when it is difficult not to become jaded. But then, we are showered with blessings when we least expect it.

I was immersed in every line ~ and feeling it.

Giving you a loving, compassionate and understanding hug of love,

EA

I am the leaver.

and it hurts just as much, to have to leave what is no longer what it was supposed to be.

and it gets better.

I remember:  Waiting, Waiting to be in "double digits", Waiting  for my period, Waiting to wear a bra, Waiting to go to Junior High and then waiting to go to High School. Waiting for a boyfriend; Waiting for my first job; Waiting for a wedding: Then Waiting for my first child and on and on and on. Now I am Waiting to retire and Waiting to go traveling. Why do we always  Wait?

I think some just don't care, if they really cared, stop and think, they wouldn't have took that step to break the vows they promised in the first place.
Some are just off having fun, enjoying the ride...until the crash and burn, then you hear a knock on your door...the one that should have been there at the beginning.

You do have a lot of lovely memories Gumpy

and that is a great bonus. The last verse was sad but we do have to accept the good with the bad, lovely poem.

My dear friend, how I can relate to this, going through all the phases of life to be left lonely in the end, the thing is, we uphold our commitments in life and don't follow our heart, lucky we have often good memories to fall back on and goodness in our heart still to share.
Have a great day my friend, if you carry love within, there is ample to share.
