If you have food to eat
And someplace to eat it
...be thankful

If you are surrounded today
by loved ones and happy children.
...be thankful

If everyone can get along
and enjoy the labors of the cook
...be thankful

If there are no empty chairs
at your thanksgivig table
...be thankful.

And if all you have this Thanksgiving Day
are cherished memories
...be thankful.

There are those who have no such memories.

Yes, I am "thankful". Thankful for all the blessings in my life ~ and thankful for your words of happy thanks giving.

We had our Canadian Thanksgiving a few weeks ago, however, your poem is filling me with thanks giving, once again! Thank you! ~ and my you have a very "Happy Thanksgiving!"

Very wise words Ida

and I think most people should be thankful

for every day of the year. There is exceptions of course but most people in the Western world do have a lot to be thankful for. Great poem Ida well done.
