    November Reckoning

Mid  lengthening shadows
of twilight indifference,
and the soft, pale thunder
  of scattering stars,
(that bow to a solemn moon’s
  grand sense of gravity)
a wintry wind blows my
empty words of impatient
  sorrow
down the dark and dirty
  streets…
hollow words like a wire
that stretch and bind
the circumference
of a ‘wasted’ life,
lost in the gale-torn
declivities of Time,
on the farthest edge
of this ever-darkling world,
where I have squandered
both chance and promise
in fine intent,
that has simply made …
no ‘difference!’

Now that...is one weighty moon, to cause stars to bow!!! Feel like you're carrying it or lifting it up some days? maybe Atlas-like?

~ I feel the "wintry wind" blowing, but your words are never "hollow".

You are a superb poet, Bruce!

Giving you an extra big hug to warm you up during the cold November winds.

Oh!  Bruce this poem touched something that made me feel like crying.

where I have squandered
both chance and promise
in fine intent,
that has simply made …
no ‘difference!’

I feel this in my own heart.

Bruce,I know, that you know that I feel this way often~~
but we both know our time has not been wasted and there has to be something more waiting for us here on earth to share.

Some days the sadness overtakes me, mostly when I think of my sister and my dad and how I miss them at the most unusual times.

Those most solomn moments, as the darkness lengthens...still remain inept to the beacon sent to shine on our best intentions.
The positive current remains, even in the dark and chilly of November.
Happy Holiday to you Bruce.

The intensity of this write draws me back to read again and again. Impossible to choose one from among the many fine images to say which are especially resonant.
