Desire’s Voice

An octave below rapture
Desire whispers back
Dampened in the waters of half breaths
Your words given voice in my mind
My hands rest in the stillness of our story

Rendered volumes scented in moonlight
I hear the music as my heart song
Rhythm wild and so strong
Harmony, caresses the air
Spins, the cosmos of my soul
Singing inside, attuned to each note

In a sigh above rhapsody
An instrument beneath your fingers
Strum of strings that arch in grace
Carried to a choir pitch, and trace
An octave below rapture
Desire whispers back

TD,

The first three lines were simply amazing!
They lured me in to enjoy your wonderful poem!   It was nice to read your poetry again.  BTW, making way to the library right now with this wonderfully descriptive poem.

Excellent title

The two beginning and ending lines
are indeed most fine!; however, I am
particularly fond of:

“…our story
Rendered volumes scented in moonlight”;

“Rhythm wild and …strong
Harmony, caresses the air …
Spins…the cosmos of my soul(!)”

AND:

“In a sigh above rhapsody
An instrument beneath your fingers”

Applause!!

This definitely belongs on top

Poet, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.
