November Frost

Cold winds
Blow trees that have lost,
Leaves from the fall,
By November frost.

Snowflakes falling
From the heavenly sky,
For winter is coming
And to fall we say good-bye.

Frosted rooftops
And chimney frozen cold,
Hot drinks are made
Hot cider is sold

*-*-*-*-*-*-*

Lying in bed
So soft and warm,
Cuddling a blanket
Till bright sunny morn.

Windows frosted
By cold morning breeze.
Off to school I go,
I had a little sneeze.

Crystal clear skies,
Not a cloud in sight.
The sun is shining,
Ever so bright.

Cold winds
Blow trees that have lost,
Leaves from the fall
By November frost.

Ah those bright cold days when we can breathe, but have to walk quickly to get warm.

Beautiful, dear Arctic Wind!

It is nice to circle a poem
as you did.

What is nicer, indeed, is to know why
someone liked a poem.

You open up the imagery very well. I got a
little side-tracked with your sneeze; but
a cold day could bring them off, well enough.

I enjoyed your efforts, AW.  Thank you!

"In spite of a sneeze"....this might work
better...sort of smooth's out the two lines
...good effort.

A lot of nostalgia involved in this poem

It made me smile the whole way down.

It really made me bring back some of the memories i have, and love as a child.

I honestly thank you for this poem.
I greatly enjoyed it and gave me time to slow down, and enjoy what i was given, and will always have.

Greatly Enjoyed.

Yes, I most certainly understand working on it.

A lovely November poetic treat! The crisp, cold air ~ I breathed it in and I savored the images that you word painted.

Some hot cider sounds pretty good to me right now! Perhaps your Mom could make you a thermos of it that you could sip on your way to school!

Have a happy November!

Just a few minutes ago, I left a park with century old trees.  The ground was even, covered with crunching leaves under my feet.  The smell of smoke from campfires and chimneys drifted into my car as I drove home.  Your poem reminds me of the transition we face in Ohio between Summer and Winter.  Very much enjoyed your imagery...

I just came back from a little jaunt down to the mailbox, and while I was breathing in the crisp November air, snowflakes fell down from a clear blue sky! ~ No clouds! Where did the snow come from! Then I thought of your lovely poem, and you had snow falling from clear, blue skies!

I just had to come back and read your poem again!

Love to you, AW

Great poem Arctic Wind, it makes winter much more bearable especially with that idea of a cosy blanket to keep you warm.

winter and fall are my favorite seasons,
I love to sit in front of the fireplace,
with a cozy blanket and drink hot chocolate
(Swiss miss brand) with Mallow Cream..not just tiny marshmellows LOL!
