LEAH Today Princess Leah turns thirteen, Her cool, green eyes reflect her dreams. The dreams of a young girl with an older soul Who is just beginning to play her role. Taking her place on the future world stage At this auspicious time of a brand new age. Her gentle nature, so calm and unassuming, Appears unaffected by her regal beauty. Yet a hint of mischief plays about her smile And I realize, she is no longer a child. So, I can only hope she will always be That special person her Grandma sees. Ida Werrett I wrote this poem in July 1999 when my oldest Granddaughter turned thirteen and she is still that special person. [This message has been edited by Marchmadness (11-14-2007 11:34 PM).] |
