      LEAH
Today Princess Leah turns thirteen,
Her cool, green eyes reflect her dreams.
The dreams of a young girl with an older soul
Who is just beginning to play her role.
Taking her place on the future world stage
At this auspicious time of a brand new age.
Her gentle nature, so calm and unassuming,
Appears unaffected by her regal beauty.
Yet a hint of mischief plays about her smile
And I realize, she is no longer a child.
So, I can only hope she will always be
That special person her Grandma sees.
                            Ida Werrett

I wrote this poem in July 1999 when
my oldest Granddaughter turned thirteen
and she is still that special person.

With a grandmother like you loving her, how could she help but continue to be special?

What a poetic treasure you have penned for your little princess!

Congratulations Ida for having such a

special grandaughter. I'm sure she takes after her grandmother. Take care.

It is always lovely to see someone through the eyes of another who loves them. This is the case with your Princess.  I am sure she is more beautiful and wonderful today.
