A question haunts my mind: Why is it OK for a soldier to kill people but not OK for a Civilian! to do the same thing? Civilian killers are called murderers but why? Because they kill the wrong people? Soldiers are called heroes, Is that because they kill the right people? An interesting distinction – completely lost on me. Who determines who is the wrong victim of murder; who is the right one? It wouldn’t be (perish the thought) our wonderful, moral, trustworthy politicians now, would it? Well, yes, that is who! The very same liars and robbers we elect time after time, knowing that each time the taxes will go up and benefits come down; the poor will become poorer and the rich become the super rich. Murder is murder however you slice it! |

Whether one can fully agree with the content of this 'write' or not...it does contain powerfully stated points and opinions! I will 're-post' here...what I had 'replied' on another 'write' (from earlier today): [at least in the past, some wars were likely absolutely necessary/unavoidable and perhaps justified! (stopping Hitler; etc.)...instead of just being 'invented' to satisfy the relentless ego and private intent of major politicians who are (in simultaneity) incredibly minuscule statesmen and human beings!] ~ |

Need distinction? You are on a sidewalk one way is a police officer with a drawn gun The other a dirty thug with a drawn gun Which way do you run? Only a simplistic mind would attempt to equate the military to murderers, Please grow up and start thinking. You don’t remember the past, else you’d know the why, Another poor product of the modern school system. Read your history, start with WWII Then go backwards. Should be easy for such a backwards thinker. PS I don’t object to the objection to the Rich pilfering from this war, Just leave the Soldier out of it. |

Let's also try coming forward from W.W. II: Those of us who are stuck with remembering Nam too damn well...as soldiers or civilian advisors; etc. [particularly if one happened to witness a friend unable to stand because he was repeatedly slipping and falling on his own intestines while trying to get them back in his abdomen]...might think about taking issue with this 'write'...and also have severe difficulty mentioning that MANY of the 'military' most assuredly did become 'murderers' there... (understandable, but not justifiable!)... yet, that should be re-stressed for folks that 'sing' in shadows and make personal remarks about others who have every right to state their opinions about such a topic! |

This write asks questions that need to be asked. Those of us who experienced the draft in the Vietnam era asked many of the same questions as those today who query invented wars for profit. Norman Mailer, now gone from this mortal plane at an interesting moment, Veterans Day weekend, spoke to many of these same issues in his books. His last, Castle in the Forest, explored the nature of evil. When you follow the money trail, you get some answers -- some, but not all. WW - Fine write and excellent questions. |
