you wander slowly through my mind
waking what was napping

and if a gossamer thread
could hold a dream
this one would be
the first spin

if the shell fragments flung
when the world egg cracked
could find themselves in fragile ivory
and form a star
it would be the second

if the quicksilver of your smile
could fall on the wayside
and I could find it for my pocket
it would be the third

if I could stand in the shade of your breath
and feel the warm in and out
touch my hands
it would be the fourth

and if a reed
whistling green notes
could call you to my side
and I could keep you

it would be the last

oh

it would be the last

Tie a string round my smile
And hold it in place for a while
Keep it there for me to share

I was with a few that I hoped would be my last, and they didn't share the feelings.  So hopefully this one that you appreciate will be your last...
Although the one that I have been with for quite a few years now, will certainly be my last, if it were my choice only...James

an interesting and fine ‘write!’

I am particularly fond of:

“if a gossamer thread
could hold a dream
this … would be
the first spin”

Applause!!

Dear Kate, I think your heart sings beautifully here and this delightful, captivating song is even more powerful than the "reed whistling green notes"... to call him to your side.

Enjoyed this very much.

Love,
Margherita

All inclusive 'Alpha and Omega', Milady...
