Just Another Day

When I tell her that
I need to see her,
she doesn't say
"I'll see you soon."
She says "Don't rush me,"
and I feel like I have
been more than patient,
not rushing her at all.
Still I need to see her
and I need to see her soon.
Patience can only carry
you so far before the
wants and needs of today
join with the accumulated
frustrations of yesterday
and then despite the
desire to be patient
the day turns into
just another day.
