November Moon
~ Linda L. Dowd ~

The autumn sun kisses the horizon,
as I await November’s pale, rising moon.
Another fall day ~ is fast slipping away,
as nightingales sing taps in tune.

A delicate frost steals o’er sleeping sod,
crystal lace coats each filigreed tree.
These cold, bracing days before the coming of snow,
are as refreshing as a chilled, dry Chablis.

Formations of geese wing across dusky skies,
shadows stretch with early set of the sun.
Chipmunks are stowing their caches of acorns,
for the changing of seasons has begun.

~ * ~

November is a month for reflection,
and for breathing in autumn's tranquility.
I am humbled by the majesty of Nature's surround,
and I regard all I witness with humility.

.

One great write after another!  Consistently, platinum, Miss Angel!  You've set me in to spend more time outdoors...There's so much going on now, and I've been hiding behind a desk!  Thanks for reminding me!

Linda - Your words always take me to a good place and as November is my birthday month I am holding the following close:

"November is a month for reflection,
and for breathing in tranquility."

and that these days is a great challenge.

Love to you, Angel on earth!

hmmm dear Linda Angelo Terrestre, I love to dwell in your November atmosphere. You conveyed it masterfully.

When the chilly air holds your tunes, I can wrap into them and feel warm. You duet so well with the Nightingale!

Loving you,

Linda, you always paint your poems with such exquisite imagery.  I watch the moon here rise over the mountains...a hunters moons, I think it's called as it comes up huge and yellow.  I wonder why it seems so much larger in November.  I know soon the rains will come here on the coast and we won't see much of the moon for a while, so I'm really enjoying it.

The photo on this poem is stunning with moon and its aura a back drop, to trees penciled against the gray.

Lindsay ~

LP, I do so appreciate your patronage and your support of my writing.

I am looking forward to the arrival of your book! You should let everyone know that your book is for sale!

By the way, believe me when I say that when you first read this poem, it was pretty rough around the edges. I think I have written the entire poem three times since I posted it. Some poems flow ~ and some poems, it's like pulling teeth every step of the way!

Love to you, Aussie Man,

miscellanea ~

I am most content when I am out communing in Nature. I experience an inner calm and the fresh air is revitalizing.

I'm pleased that my poetry helps motivate you to get out from behind that desk and into the Great Outdoors!

Enjoy the rest of your autumn!
