The soldiers came to Gaza
To carry out their brothers
Against the law, they said
Homes will be bulldozed

The soldiers came to Gaza
Try to remain peaceful and kind
Hand them water, carry the Torah
Crying in the synagogue

The soldiers came to Gaza
Fathers wail to a God they
Think has abandoned them
And hold their children

The soldiers came to Gaza
Mothers pointing fingers
Shouting curses, Shame on you
Hat brims pulled low to hide tears

The soldiers came to Gaza
Seeing their youth, And their kinship
Some will hug the soldiers instead
Belongings in a bag

The soldiers came to Gaza
The sadness is palpable
The tears are ever flowing
Bodies may leave, but the souls remain

Tears cannot wash away the pain of those who have suffered the loss of a loved one, to war.

An emotional read, and undoubtedly, a very emotional one to write.

Love, Harmony and World Peace,

EA

Very touching Tina. There is nothing more tramatic than loosing one's home and way of life. How difficult it must have been for those soldiers to carry out such an order.
