A girl once told me that

She was a poet.

I asked

The meaning to all this.

To which she answered:

It is only my excuse for having no

Imagination.

After reading this one I went to find out whether Kalle was a male or female name ... because I had imagined (oh that imagination!) you were a woman ... google gave me only male faces.
In my opinion poetry can be born out of imagination AND out of reality, both have their place, what we can't do without is the love of words and language.
In other terms I don't agree with your friend's statement. Nor do you, I'd hope!?

Love,
Margherita

In truth, bold and black and white... poetry
is the result of imagination and the fruit
of it...so much has been born from all of
these little snippets of words that grace
millions and millions of pages....

Careful,  it might inspire me.... and
regarding your critique message....I feel
that all critique is constructive, even
the most destructive and meaningless has
some slight degree of constructiveness.
