Riding the Wind

Hopelessness rides the wind tonight
with little, but chilling air.
Position lacking in the weave of life,
and a heart too heavy to bear.

A nightmare it seems has entered my world,
mirrored fear when seen.
Oh how I miss what I do miss
when living this life in between.

No one knows the hurt or losses
the empty of years once held...
With no one there to pick-me-up
in those moments when I'm felled.

I never ask, as I plod along,
but the pounding thoughts do scare.
Oh how I miss what I do miss
when life was once to share.

Seasons seem the same to me,
my mood a living blue,
as Alice shys away from time,
closing her eyes to the view.

Reflections bring a startled look,
a glass distorted sight.
We sit together, Alice and I,
riding the wind tonight.

Alice And I~~

Very very touching write, dear Maureen, this solitude so profoundly rendered.

May you feel warm, sending a hug.
Love,

Maureen......You seem to do this so effortlessly...with the rhythm and rhyme so fine.  The feeling touched me too...I wish all well with you.

most obviously a heart-felt 'write'!...

Hopelessness rides the wind tonight
[a most powerful line that!...
It has been said…  "there is no ‘death’
worse than the loss of all ‘hope’!”]

Most assuredly, I can relate to this penning…
[as my ‘reality’ is that ‘living blue!’]

applause for the sincere realism!

You write so well!  Your poetry always has such a nice flow to it!

The wind IS a little nippy this week.  Wishing you warmer days.
