I should have sung a birthday song to you, It would have been the thing to do, But I can’t admit you’re aging a day; It has been years and years you say. I remember you as that girl in the meadow When we didn’t even think of the morrow, Just a few days have gone by you know Not all those years and years you say; I should have sung a birthday song to you. |
