.

It’s a poem
I can’t write

It requires a despair
For more years
Than this man
Will ever know

It takes a mistake
Without repair . . .

An error
Whose wound
Finally remains
Fatally to the end

Their curtains drawn
So stiff and prim
A clock ticks
On the kitchen wall

Water drips
Into the sink
Here they are
Together alone

Where nothing happy
Can ever will ever
Happen again

When sadness or silence
Are all that is left

.

who knows. End of the world is brought in by a poem rather than a bomb.
