So Very Late

a familiar sound
knocks
on the window
in the dark steady
fingers tapping
rain
and I go
a flower wild
chasing echoes
night can ache
so much
where it hurts
to be friendly
with memories
so very late

"no darkness has ever been deep enough to extinguish my personal knowledge of love"  Anne Rice

Search for the best memories. I understand this, but life must have more to offer. sincerely,"late"

"It hurts to be friendly with memories."
Me and a friend were at a health food store the other night, and the woman that works there said I should try a new product that restores memory...I told her that was a scary thought, what if some bad memories came back that I had suppressed?  James

Helen this so delicate and it sings such a haunting refrain...

"a flower wild
chasing echoes"
