Voyeur

I  feel that I’m a voyeur
I never said I was a poet
I’m just a wantabe ...
but oh how much I love to read
and ponder other’s thoughts.

Thanks to all for your poems and insight. "late"

I'm just an inveterate 'imager'...not a writer!
Since my Hassleblad camera 'died' (about a year ago)
and I can't afford to replace it...I returned to 'word painting'
images.  Imaging is 'second nature' to me...but 'sculpting'
them into a cohesive whole (a 'poem') that has some
'Universal' point or intent, is excruciatingly painful for me
[like tearing off a piece of my soul and/or doing poetic
dentistry' (pulling my own emotional teeth)...ergo, I can
truly relate to this post!.  So many who traverse the
blue sands of "P.I.P.-land" are grand-fine 'natural writers'...
I envy them; and, it is so often pure joy to read here!

P.S.:  I love your choice of "P.I.P." UserName!

Thank you both for reading. My user name was chosen a long time ago. Because although I urged my "kids" to buy computers for their family, I did not have one until my youngest son replaced the one I had bought for him and passed his older one to me. I read a health site and found poets somewhere in the threads and after many months of reading I just ventured in. So "latearrival" That was back in 1999 Or thereabout.

Me too!  There are some tremendous poets here and I just wish I could permanently retain everything I read.

latearrival...I think you write just fine.

I am much like you about the computer thing, to this day I don't own one, I work away from home and during my slack time I use my work computer to write, post and read poetry. I learned how to write poetry by looking at a blank word screen and letting my heart and mind talk to me.Now I can't take a blank paper and pin and write like most people can because I can't let my mind open up like it does with the computer.

I always try to put myself in the shoes of others and try to get inside their heads and hearts along with my own when writing. Most of the time I don't even know where a poem is taking me, I just flow in the direction it takes me and see what comes out on the screen.Impromptu I believe is what they call it, so I am just an impromptu wannabe poet...Paul

Dont think there are any restrictions here on Voyeurs as long as you dont send in the photos

Voyeur

somebody who gains pleasure from watching, especially secretly, other people's bodies or the sexual acts in which they participate

Honeybunch, Paul and Fairplay. Thank you for reading and I love all the comments. Paul I understand how you write. I do not sit down to write either. My mind would go blank. So I am not a poet, just like to put words down I guess. You write so much better so keep on doing it the way you do.

Fair play,Thank you for the English lesson. You are right. But I used the word to mean  "lurking" or "watching"  so maybe I had better change it. Much like the word intercourse. What does that imply? It could mean where you are thinking or just an exchange of conversation. I guess I had better be more careful. Thank you, "late"

We can say that we are poets within our hearts and sometimes we enjoy to play with words which almost always disappoint because we can't keep up with what we really SEE and FEEL. But in trying there is always joy anyway.

Appreciated this, dear latearrival.

Love,
Margherita

It was short but very sweet and I'm sure that all the other poets are glad that you did join, even though a little late.

Thanks Late for sharing.

Not only did I enjoy your words, I enjoyed reading the words of those who have replied to them!

You ARE a poet, m'dear! Your poetry always touches me. It is so open and honest ~ and I can identify with what your heart spills onto the page.

I seldom know what it is that I am going to be writing about. Like yourself, words come pouring out and I am excited to see where they will be taking me! lol

Love to you, sweet poetess!

Linda
P.S. I like your poetic use of "Voyeur". I did not take it in the literal sense.

late,

What a little gem among all the poems posted. I am the "late" one this time.  In my mind, you are very much a participant.  You share your thoughts about poems others write -- I love when I see you have dropped in one of my poems.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts  -- and I love this little poem.

A (always "Alison" because there is truly only ONE "late")

MartyJo -- I guess we are all voyeurs, huh?  LOL   No, really, we are a society of voyeurs....that's why TVs, newspapers, etc. sell.  Thought this little write of yours was quite profound and I always enjoy reading your thoughts.  *hugs*.....jo
