Could have slept,
no where to go,
when morning is too selfish
to keep pain for itself,
pain the jackass doctor says,
lets me know something is wrong.

Is he devoid of skill
or just plain stupid;
why would I see him
if nothing is wrong?

No one ever dies from pain,
he laughs,
like he's a stand-up
who doesn't know
he's already lost the crowd,
at open mike night,
in the City.

Were I the man
I was trained to be,
in my twenties,
I could save him karmic steps
and teach him of his error,
on the spot.

This has been a horrible year for health. I have a keen interest in staying away from doctors now...

Icy, don't put up with the pain...there is no reason for it..

Dear Box of Ice, whoever came up with the saying, "No pain. No gain." should be shown a thing or two!

Nurse 'angel' will make a special dew brew for you that will send that pain of yours on its way! So mote it be!

As a health professional myself, I find it difficult to understand how there are those who are so insensitive.

Love and healing hugs,

Linda

Sadly, I can relate to your disgust.  When I could barely hobble due to rheumatoid arthritis,(feet, ankles, hands, wrists and knees swollen way out of proportion) I received helpful literature. Page after page advising dancing, swimming, hiking, or jogging to take my mind off the pain and strengthen muscles. Then my doctor asked why I was walking so funny when he saw me coming down the hall following my appointment.  Thank God, I got a rheumatologist who knew his stuff and helped me...first with a wheel chair.

Bless you,

Would-be-comic docs are never funny, and neither is pain. My Rx for you:
A warm bath, a massage, fine wine, poetry, and receiving a lover's smile.

I sure understand this. My leg (the one I hurt in the horse accident) has been hurting me so bad.

I wish you were young enough to teach "Mr. funny doctor" his karmic lesson . I would pay to watch. I know a thing or two about pain myself and about the off-hand attitude.
Thanks for saying what we are all thinking and saying it so well too.

one of the dumbest questions
ask by a doctor is...
"how are ya?"
cause if i was "great"
i sure as hell wouldnt be here
and paying you to ask me

and if they couldnt get it right
i wish they wouldnt
practice on me
