Mojave’s Renewal

~ Linda L. Dowd ~

Thunder was booming in the Prussian empyrean,
Reverberating across the scorched plains,
~ That patiently awaited the onslaught of waters,
And the refreshing, cool taste of fall rains.

A blustering gale blew in from the west,
~ Whipping sands into the dark swirling sky.
Creatures sought refuge from the impending storm,
As they scurried across desert ~ bone dry.

The skies opened up and a deluge poured down,
With the land drinking deep from the run.
Apaches would plume ~ as yuccas did bloom,
~ For the Mojave’s renewal had begun.

Roniece, so nice to hear from you! I was just thinking how wonderful it is that this poetry site brings people together from all over the world. My first two replies are from Australia and South Africa ~ and I live in Canada. Yet I feel as though the miles disappear and we are neighbours! Howdy, neighbour! ~ and friend!

Thank you for reading and replying!

Love to you!

Bunches of Honey ~

I do so enjoy a good thunderstorm! ~ Note I said "good"! ~ the ones that revitalize! Some thunderstorms can wreak a great deal of damage. I hope the ones that you are experiencing are of the latter!

Loving hug,

ahhh, I feel that Earth Angels are ONE with the rain, one with Earth and one with souls.

A very powerful poem, impressive in its impact, dear Linda.

Love and hugs.

Linda...As always I am left with a smile and a memory from your amazing poetry.

I wish the rains we have been getting today in South Louisiana would go out West and put out the fires that are causing so must destruction as I am writing this...Paul

Paul ~

That was very sweet of you to say. Thank you!

~ and yes, perhaps Louisiana could send some of its rain out west where it is desperately needed. In fact, as I am writing this reply, I am watching coverage of the raging infernos on Larry King Live. How absolutely dreadful!!!

Ooops! I meant to say that I hope the ones that you are experiencing are of the GGOOD variety!

Love to you, Honey!
