      Impermanence

Beyond the fleeting glow
   of sunset,
flaming in a moment …
to pastel-rose twilight
with pensive grey clouds
moored on these ancient
   hills,
Time plays in the moonlight
   and shadows…
dances with comets
   and stars,
as Autumn speaks
in falling leaves and
  fading dreams,
a final farewell with no
  regrets,
(lauding impermanence)
then passes the stage
to the relentless chill
of Winter’s sorrows,
and restless tyranny
of human discontent.

That's my kind of time, poet.
I love Autumn, but equally embrace Winter, ever since my first deep-freeze in Alaska. Even -60F has intrinsic beauty, when the willow branches become encased in solid ice, and even the squirrels take a day off from their constant chatter. ~sigh~ (My body prefers closer to +60F.)
Seasonal changes always make me a bit nostalgic, but this year, I had hoped for brilliant color changes that haven't happened. Where are the intense reds and golds??? Global warming has stolen the brilliant Fall extravaganza!

~ Yes, time is most often our friend ~ and not the enemy.

..."Autumn speaks
in falling leaves and
  fading dreams,"

May your dreams be renewed with this new season that is upon us.
