SWITCHING CHANNELS
10 October 2007

Your soft television words
were mapped
in a mosaic
I could not read,
but the rivulet of your speech
and the dongas
etched in your rich brown face
and the focus
in the tilt of your head
and the mother in your eyes
were your esperanza wings.

Very captivating, dear Diana! Dongas?
... lines perhaps?
Love,

Thanks, Margherita and Kacy.  A donga (South African word) is a very deep wide ditch caused by soil erosion.

Thanks, Kate.  Yes, though it is my own poem, that line got to me too.

A deft write, that is somehow sharp and soft at all once.

The Lady chose my favorite line as well...

Captivating, Diana!

Very nice read Owl, thought you might like this owl I painted seeing as it's your "handle."

~ Your connection to the animal kingdom is mesmerizing, admirable, and heart-warming.

Love to you, Dear Diana,

Oh, Moondogz (which name I think is twice as great as your abbreviation of "Moon", as nice as it is), I LOVE it!  Please can it be ME!

Thank you, Linda.  I sometimes think I belong in the animal world more than the world of people.  As lovable as some people are, I find ALL animals mega-lovable!

Yes indeed it can be you, and thanks for the compliments. Obviously a kindred spirit you are.

Oh, THANK you, Moondogz.

I'm wondering what my boss would say, if I changed the photo on my business card to this!  Her reply ought to be, "Great improvement" or the like, but somehow, I don't think she would be too pleased, because, nice as she is (most of the time), she is not a kindred spirit of you and me, and wouldn't understand!

well I don't know...who would know more about "nests" than an owl...I think that's a really cool idea. You know what they say, "ask and ye shall receive."
