no one knows the real me
tied in knots
waiting to be set free
having wallowed in stagnation
these last years

no one truly knows the heart
that has been set aside,
the flame still at low
waiting for the air to lift its pollution
so the feelings can rise and flow

no one knows the thoughts
that even confuse the swirl
of wants and needs
that dance continously
at too fast a speed

no one really knows
what lies ahead...

I think many of us feel the same. We live day to day and follow where our foot steps take us. In the long  run we are the ones in charge and it is up to us to make a decision and follow through. What could happen? Just a different experience, that may turn out for the  best. best to you, "late"

very 'real' and fine emotive 'write'!

[and good response by: "latearrival" also!....
I too believe that this is how many (most?!)
of us end up feeling amid the "Runaway
American Dream" (which I also term "Zombie
Capitalism") based on all of us who have
ended up stumbling around in a
  psycho-emotional 'zombie' state from the
'way things typically transpire in this
  society.]

Applause!!

I sure understand how you feel. It is true, we don't know what lies ahead. Hope you are doing ok.

Dear (((Maureen))), this is very beautifully said. May you be aware of your heart and FEEL again deeply ... it is too sad if it is "put aside".

It is surely true that no one really knows our deepest emotions, we are One, yet we are also individually special and unique.

Love and hugs.

M you are correct.. No one really knows what lies ahead. Hopefully it is an adventure of love and romance. There are many doors to chose from.  Good Luck

Nicely done!

"no one knows the real me"

~ but I do believe that through all of your poetry, I have gotten to know you a bit better! ~ and I like what I have learned!

May the road that lies ahead, be one of complete and utter joy! You deserve it!

Loving hug,

Linda

So much has changed in my life and yet still too little in other ways~~ was just thinking how much of myself I am actually learning about and how much is still to learn.

Thank you,
M

I think we've travelled a lot of the same thoughts the last few years, Maureen.

We may not know what comes next ... but as long as  we're open to change and new things - some nice surprises may wait around the bend!

Best wishes and hugs,
/Kit
