If tomorrow doesn't come for you, for me
That star you wished upon, find me there
The tree of life awaits
I know it will make us whole again
I know that time is near
My telescope led me to a planet
I named it Athepolous
My whole life written off one word
Just know what I fought for , what I loved
was never in vain, nor preposterous

I have lived and learned so much
I was not named after a plant by accident
In the end I return to my home
that beautiful flower you picked just
yesterday
You sniffed me and brought me to life
The only one I have ever loved
was painted in my dreams , even
before my time, before my mothers time
I knew you would last in my heart forever

Just never knew I would depart from your
side so soon, in the ancient times
it was told we would live forever
if we drank from that trees fountain
But maybe I heard wrong
I led us to the wrong one
I drank from the wrong tree
following after me you drank too
and what was meant to be forever
was taken right before our eyes

I lost you, yes I lost you!
And I try and regrow everyday
so that I can come rescue you
take back what was rightfully mine!
If only I could fix our lives again
I know we could live forever
in the form of the tree of life
blossoming in the spring time
and resting peacefully in the winter
and I could smile and say I lived with
no regrets , "I just know it".... sigh

Poem inspired by the movie " The Fountain"

I do not need shine or wealth, just a pen and some paper for my health

Quite interesting and fine!

[I happen to like this poem much more than the
  movie which 'inspired' it, however!]

serious, sustained applause!!
