like bob dylan said when introducing "simple twist of fate" to the crowd At Budokan in 1978, 'here's a simple love story... happened to me...' you and me is the sharp sting of rejection you and me is feeling lonesome like being lost in a vast cornfield you and me is the crash of dawn through my window, im too damn empty to sleep you and me is as soft as the blue of a robins egg and as hard as cold gravel you and me is words i wish i never said and words i wish i had said and words i wish i could say you and me is tears on my pillow you and me is never understanding why i act like i do you and me is only ever doing wrong when i only ever mean to do you right you and me is romeo and juliet - but after romeo drank the poison, juliet took the dagger and stabbed his dead body and never thought about it again and didn't care. you and me is all these things to me, and nothing to you. |
