At night the
street lights
  yawned yellow
at all of us.
We were just kids
gawky and fresh.
With bent noses and feathers
ruffled from the
freefall
of adolesence.
We were the masters
of silent film as
we starred at the
pavement
with our hands in our
pockets
tip tapping the curb
with our toes,
waiting
to tell her
goodnight.

Thanks for the "read" BrainMop, very well done. Nice flashback (for me anyway) to a simpler time and place.

Hi Brainmop,
If this is just getting your feet wet, I can't wait for you to jump in.
