    Appalachian Autumn

Here…where a billion years
  of moonlight
has bathed this ancient land
in Nature’s simple truths…
Autumn is the ‘poetry’
that makes these mountains
  dance,
when she comes to call,
dressed in finest frost
and ‘Deep-Time’ memories,
rising with the sun
in cool, refreshing mist
and rainbow-leaves,
along these southbound
streams of destiny,
which seek the sublime
  solace
of an endless, silent
  sea.

What a beautiful portrait of Autumn!:

"dressed in finest frost
and ‘Deep-Time’ memories,
rising with the sun
in cool, refreshing mist
and rainbow-leaves"

You've made me homesick with this writing, Poet... I didn't think it could happen, but reading this:

"Here…where a billion years
  of moonlight
has bathed this ancient land
in Nature’s simple truths…
Autumn is the ‘poetry’
that makes these mountains
  dance,"

... it was like the childrens' game of "crack the whip", suddenly bringing body and mind to a scene not visited in decades. And what a scene (!):

" ‘Deep-Time’ memories,
rising with the sun
in cool, refreshing mist
and rainbow-leaves,"

"streams of destiny," - the phrase lingers in my mind.

Very fine write!
