Ah...The dreaded curfew
What is a child to do?

On the wide green lawn
Between the apartment buildings,
Where all the children played,
Having the most fun of all
Just at the close of day.

Where the fresh-cut grass
Smelled so good.
I would have stayed there forever
....If only I could.

I felt so exhilarated, so alive.
Free to run and play,
Out of those tunneled hives.
But just when the fun
Would really begin
Our parents would call
"It's time to come in."
