      Autumn Memories

Amber sunset-ripples dance
‘mid soft grey clouds
and ebony mountain-silhouettes,
reflected by this lake of mirrors
in the mellow Autumn twilight,
with a brash-blue moon rising
through the brisk and smoky
   air,
from the first fall fires
chasing chill and sorrow
from our fading memories,
of youth…and love…and
  Spring!

This has a very 'preparing for winter cold' feel about it. I can almost feel the crispness in the air. Wonderfully done.

No other poet paints such a vivid picture in my mind. It's almost like looking at a painting.

Oh, and here's the first watercolor -- so there are a pair of them... again skillfully rendered with images clear and true. Your tones, mid-tones and color balances change slightly in these two poems, just as gently as the light of this season.

You sure seem to like Autumn a lot...
It is my favourite season.  I don't know why, but it always brings up memories from the past and the painful memories that we try hard to go through and all...

You are awesome, and I like this poem.
thank you for sharing.

sigh ... yes. Beautifully melancholic.
