Laxative
By: Noah Eaton
9/25/07

She said she feels inadequate,
the latest fashion ads left her a gloomy gus,
has her plangent heart tightly knit,
she wants to appear diaphanous,
so she began pole-vaulting over the counter,
testing out each stimulant,
now she thinks the Milk of Magnesia,
is the milk of human kindness…

She wants to be marbled porcelain,
she wants to be the Aphrodite of the South Side,
had to turn herself inside out,
to be proselytized,
she’s just too over her head,
to see the point,
when you try letting everything go,
you will disjoint…

She blends Feen-a Mint® with her tea,
so she can stay in mint condition,
tells her friends she’s taken this mission,
on her own volition,
but to her dismay the first several brands,
showed no effect,
so she doubled her intake,
and raised the bet.

She started feeling dehydrated,
every single day,
but she still sifts Ipepac Syrup,
on her rice cakes,
she’s just too over her head,
to see the point,
when you try letting everything go,
you will disjoint…

Wild mood swings ensue,
cardic arrhythmias come following through,
she feels cramps in her chest every afternoon,
she feels the world has her misconstrued,
she’s hemorrhaging behind her eyes,
she’s freezing in her bed on each summer night,
fainted on every twenty syllables she speaks,
felt her bones begin to creak.

Now she’s in the geriatric ward,
amidst her convalescent period,
guess someone up there really feels for her,
but she’s bawling for the less fortunate myriads,
who just want to feel exquisite,
want to appear diaphanous,
led to believe Milk of Magnesia,
is the milk of human kindness…

Her diary can be heard,
screaming out loud:
“When you let go of yourself,
you let yourself tear inside-out!”
she quivers inconsolably,
seeing the point,
when you try letting everything go,
you will disjoint…

when you try letting everything go,
you will disjoint…

when you try letting everything go,
you will disjoint…

So much dignity and love in there, something I haven't read in a while for women with those kind of problems.. Thanks for making that stand!

To the top ... just because it's you

Poet, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.
