** I joined PIPS about seven and a half years ago. At the time I was a young 22 year old fool who thought she'd be in love with the same person forever. Boy has life sure gave me a few knocks! I am happy to say though that I have found true love. My life partner Bonnie and I have been together for close to five years now. We have a lovely home, good jobs, and have made a nice life for ourselves. We are planning on having kids within the next two years or so. To all and any who have touched my life at PIPS since 2000, I thank you. This place has been a haven more than once. Thanks for reading. Hopefully, my vision and inspiration to write poetry comes back SOON!

Over The Years

My oh my how time has changed
The past seven years have flown by
A few loves, jobs, and moves later
Oh the hellos and goodbyes

Many a day I sat and wrote
Upon these pages of blue
For it was at my darkest hour
That I read all of you

Time took me away
Life continues on, passes day by day
Need to take a moment though
Thank you is what I'd like to say

There have been ladies in my life
For one reason or another we let go
It is my honor to say though
Bonnie and I celebrate five years (yeah I wanted you to know)

Five years...long time
For the queen of tears
Think I'll marry this one
Oh right gay marriage isn't legal, something about that should be done

Seven years, so much has changed
Yet it seems like a blink of an eye
Full circle
I now celebrate all the lows and highs

"Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away"

This is very nice. I havn't been on this earth for too terribly long compared to most, but I still have a pretty good idea of how much stuff can change "Over The Years". This poem justifies that well.

Amy, you have "come full circle" and I am sooo happy for you!

Things are finally all coming together for you.
I know you've have had your fair share of rain falling down upon you ~ but now the sun is shining and all is well!

May your joy know no end!

Loving hug,

Linda

Thank you all for your wonderful replies. Life is certainly a journey. Along that journey we experience happiness and sadness, love and loss, highs and lows. That's how we know we're living. I am certainly enjoying my journey. Although I have hit some low spots (as we all have) I wouldn't trade any of my experiences for anything. They make us who we are.

Take care,

Amy
