Hanging onto this vine of life
I cling....waiting....wishing...hoping
When I open my eyes
It is only me that I see

Torn in half, unable to speak
I realize that this is forever
Some things you can not undo
No matter how you try

Looking in the mirror
I watch and follow the single tear
Falling down my face
It cleanses my skin, making it new again

These eyes still hold dreams
Breaking through is proving tough
One never to give up
I will continue to try, to fight

Sometimes I am frozen
Other times I move around freely
Always though I think of you
Wondering...thinking...praying

Saying goodbye so many times now
Shouldn't it come easy
I should be detached, should feel nothing
Thanking God that I do

My heart and life will go on
One foot in front of the other
Farewell to the past
Hello to the future

Great write.

~ Oh, I do know what you mean.

We may not be able to undo things that have been done, but thankfully our pain does lessen with the passing of time.

"I should be detached, should feel nothing"

those times are only temporary... You wouldn't be a caring human if you didn't "feel"

Thanks for the cheering up you guys! I need it today. I think I got the September blues. Fall is a hard time of the year for me--but missing my Mom(s) is a daily thing....just sometimes it hits me harder than others I guess.

Thanks for "listening"...truly appreciated. Glad to be writing again. I have missed this place. Sticking around for a while I think.
