In the end it doesn't matter
The reasons mean nothing now
Yet if I could go back again
I'd change it all somehow

Knowing you
Has made me who I am today
As my thoughts drift to you
Here they will always stay

In the end nothing changed
Yet time seems to stand still
For in the depths of my heart
I realize the pain and love are real

I will carry this love deep inside
For then it can always be kept
The tides will rise and fall once more
Memories in the sand have all been swept

Roaring ocean, rocks so sharp
From white to black we go
No beginning and no end
For we already know

In the end it doesn't matter
The reasons mean nothing now
Yet if I could go back again
I'd change it all somehow

Amy, your gift for writing poetry serves you well ~ and your readers!

Your spill of emotions flows so smoothly down the page ~ and into the hearts of those who read your moving mots.

~ May your pain lessen with the passing of time.

Loving hug,

Linda

Thank you for your lovely encouraging replies. I clearly remember why I love PIP so much.

Amy darling one, How wonderful to read your beautiful words again, I only dropped in to reply to Keth and found your gem shining in these pages blue. Truly you have a wonderful gift and thank you so very much for sharing the beauty with us. This is so soft like a half remembered echo, or a whisper of song on a breeze. Beautiful as I said, you really are a special writer and yes darling girl I love it.

Love and warm stuff

I think all poetry should contain wisdom, and this looks like the most reflective and truthful poem I've read today. Amazing how none of your words are empty esthetics, possible to relate to each one!
