  MEMORIAL DAY CEREMONY

The old men stand proud
Before the scattered crowd,
The battered warriors
Of half-forgotten wars.
With trembling hands
They salute the flag,
And recall their youth
Lost on foreign shores.

A marching band plays
And speeches are made
On this solemn day of remembrance.
Some reflect on the victories
But most remember the losses
And grieve for those who lie
Beneath the miles of white crosses.

My 'wasband' never missed a Remembrance Day ceremony (Here in Canada) since he was a little boy.

I know that he would appreciate the poetic poignancy of your words.

Love, Harmony, & World Peace,

EA
