    KATHERINE

In a once sacred temple
That is no more.
Her robes fall around her
On the cold, stone floor.
Her face is hidden by long, red hair
That falls gently forward
As she kneels in prayer.
Swirled softly about her,
It glows in the twilight
Until darkness crowns her
With a halo of starlight.
Here at the end of an ancient day,
Her whispered prayers are borne away
And offered up to the gods that be
Who scatter their essence on eternity.
Gifting a child with the memory
....Of Katherine
As she knelt to pray for me.

The more poetry of yours that I have been reading ~ the more I want to read.

Thy quill pens with such grace.
