lamentations was my morning song

Tarot said I have been towered
must begin again

what
begin again on a Friday?
never
takes too long

at the Dead Poet bookstore words leak from books
flow around corners
vortex
surely one will find me
untower me

old man
linen face under straw hat
explains freedom from disturbance of mind
trembling bone of a finger
holding book place
tomorrow he leaves for New Mexico mountains
cool air and his daughter

young girl
leaning against shelf
startles
what are those yellow flowers?
van Gogh sunflowers
remember them
they can see you

the owner and I
talk baby girls
hers in Poland
mine in Florida
Mary said and Lilia said…
and oh!
those funny baby girls
we laugh
grandmothers longing for miniature voices
huge lost moments of life

we remember our sons' long ago faces
hummingbird painted on the fence
in memory of Ian

Ronn looks good she says
I almost didn't know him
and I am so glad you are buying these books
I love them

her hugs are soul quickening
magickal elements
yellow square
silver crescent

untowered
soul redeemed
I leave the Dead Poet bookstore
a set of Picasso books in a Bebe Sports bag

somewhere

a word found me

I am mesmerized.
Speechless
Lost in thought
and this wonderful feeling
you created within me.

Lady Kate, if I am not mistaken, this is the first pic that I have seen you post. Is that a photo of the bookstore of which you are a patron?

One of my friends and I enjoy visiting bookstores ~ the older the better. Antique bookstores are our favourites. We soak up the atmosphere and the literature which feeds our souls. When we leave it is always with a book or two tucked under our arms ~ after we have paid for them! lol

Was Ian your son? How touching to have paintings of hummingbirds on the fences in memory of him.

Thank you for communing your "Friday morning at the Dead Poet bookstore".

"somewhere

a word found me"

~ Oh, Kate! More than a word found you! ~ and you conveyed that so poetically.

Sending a warm, hug of love,

Linda

Alison, thank you so much

Linda Angel I left much unsaid, didn’t I? I’m sorry. It is a photo of my friend, Linda’s used bookstore. She and I raised our sons together and are now enjoying their children… 6 little girls. Ian was her son who, like a hummingbird, flapped his wings furiously and left us early.
Thank you dearly for your reply.

Diana, so good to see you here… thank you

Kacy, thank you for your kind words

thank you Honeybunch

thank you very much Margherita

The Tower...

I really, really hate that card!

and I really, really love this--

I felt like I was there with you...

and oh I'd love to be able to, too.

nod

I don't think Kari would mind if you joined us for coffee on our "someday" date!

Love this. (and poets, both alive and dead)

Milady I loved this very much...
what imagery and vibrations created in the mind...
perhaps, if I could just stand in a corner...
unobserved and not disturbing the ambiance...
I could absorb, quietly the ghosts of the poets.

Thank you for sharing so beautifuly.

Kate, both poem and pic are treasures.  Somehow, I knew that when I got to the ending there was going to be something that would top the entire piece off perfectly.

I was correct.....ah, and that chair in the photo reminds me of a favorite little mexican restaraunt that I have frequented,
and it has such wonderfully painted chairs, my favorite ones being of the sun/moon painted to brightly.  I had a pic of that, but no longer have it.  The next time I am there, I will have to send it on over to you, I am sure you would love it, as much as I loved this entire poem.  Hugs sweetie.

I'm so happy that I can't stop cryin, I'm so happy that I'm laughing through my tears...TK
