Music: All Through the Night

Sleep, Baby, Sleep
~ Linda L. Dowd ~

Sleep, baby, sleep,
Close your eyes and drift away,
Dream, baby, dream
Of magical lands so far away.

The sandman's coming,
He's almost here,
He'll sprinkle some stardust
Then disappear.

Sleep, baby, sleep,
Close your eyes and drift away,
Dream, baby, dream
Of magical lands so far away.

The night is dark,
But you're safe and warm,
All snuggled in blankets
'Til the early morn'.

Sleep, baby, sleep,
Close your eyes and drift away,
Dream, baby, dream
Of magical lands so far away.

The journey you make,
You must make alone,
But you'll wake in the morning,
Home sweet home.

Sleep, baby, sleep,
Close your eyes and drift away,
Dream, baby, dream
Of magical lands so far away.

.

Just lovely, Linda~

I know two little grandie girlies that would gladly close their eyes to have you 'sing-song' this one to them~

Marge ~

I would love for your grandie girlies to listen to my lullaby poem.

When my daughters were young, I would sing them to sleep at night while playing my guitar. I wrote many songs for them which was a labour of love. The words in this poem, are actually lyrics from one of them.

Thank you for your sweet response,

Lullaby Love,

Linda

Lee J!!! I've been missing you! I have been having so much fun posting my last four poems with music and my voice. It's a bit tedious trying to put it all together ~ hopefully I will get better at it as I go along.

I hope you have been well!

Loving hug,
Linda

Lindsay ~

Oh, how precious! You would have a bassinet beyond compare, with little stars suspended over your sweet self.

~ and each night I would sing you ever so softly to sleep.

I agree with Jim
You have a magical voice  that would soothe any child and make them feel safely warm and well loved.
I do believe you must have a beautiful singing voice
perhaps you will sing for us
This is very precious

I will save it and play it for little Simon when he will visit! So beautiful and I finally could listen to your sweet voice. A treat!
I think before long you will be well known and loved by children of all age!

A beautifully soothing poem and voice!

Love and hugs, Angelo Terrestre!

Linda EA:
Over the weekend, and listening to your voice, you now seem so very real to me in a way you never really were before.  Well you were just some one who posted on passions.
What a soft and lilting voice you have, Linda.
For "baby" is for big people too, you know.
And now, when I take my meds,
and just before I go to bed,
you are here at my side to whisper
to me that everything is fine,
that there is no need to worry,
that all is taken care of,
Your soft, your soft, soft voice.
remove and sooth away
the pains the cares and disappointments
that have infested my day.
If they don't have you working
at the Hospital For Sick Children over there,
they should.
If you are not caring for patients at a hospice,
bringing them joy and giving them comfort
on their final journey to the end of Life,
You should be ...
Thank you for giving me a piece of you
that no one else can ever take away.
Love
J

Your words have special meaning for me. I felt the depth and sincerity of them and am deeply gratified that my recorded poem is able to do that for you. Smiling here.

Just had to come back and say:
"This is the rubber ducky
10-4 Good Buddy!"
and
"Mommas don’t let your babies grow-up to be cowboys”

I only have two teeth
But one of them is a sweet tooth!

Just funnin' with ya!
