Yep, from the start I felt alright:
Breathed the air beneath the stars,
As a toddler I reaped your joy,
In my being gave you calm.

And as I grew so did my needs
You hurled yourself into work for me
Three post rounds a day to tempest the storm
Those bills surmounted by the door.

One day, a shipwreck came, I tell you
What made you break on that round?
To lay heavy hearted on the ground
Mother said it was heart attack brought on by work and snow.

I felt helpless and at charge
No hope and in doubt
Couldn’t the bills wait at bay?
Mother said they could beyond all doubt

Immortal you where to me
Now you’re far away from me
A narrow strip of sullen earth in graveyard
A photo on the mantelpiece,
much like postcard

My morals seem all stripped away
I cannot keep the guilt away
You posted letters now are delivered from me
Like sunken footprints in the frozen grass you fell too soon
And faded too fast,
Letters and snow are memories to me,
Letters and snow rekindle your spirit in me
How or how did it come to this?
state of deliberation and delivery

I feel for you.
I can relate to the childlike innocence of your poem.
