This isn’t turning out the way I planned
You know I had it all set up in my head
Yeah, I did it again

I open my mind to write a song
And expect the whole world to know how to sing along
Oh, But it doesn’t work that way

I’m sad today, I don’t know why
I have a million reasons
I guess I’ll just pick one to try
Maybe it’ll fit
Or maybe it’ll Slip
                          Right
                                Off.

My life is this winding river
It never stops flowing, never quits moving
Even though sometimes
I just want a break

Sixteen hours of sleep
That’s what the lucky people have
I’m glad if I can somehow manage a wink
Or two.

I thought maybe I could sleep my way
Through the night
But I guess I wasn’t right
No.
I was wrong again.
Go figure.

Go figure.
Oh, it’s not a shock.
Go figure.
Don’t even act surprised.
Go figure.
I’ll force myself not to cry.
Go figure.

~ Go figure! But if you write the song and sing it long enough and loud enough ~ people will hear it! ~ and then hopefully will begin to sing along with you!
