.

A frigid wind
Bending branches

The skittering sound
Of dried leaves
On the road

An iron bridge
The horn of a passing train
A church bell’s toll

The last geese
On the gray horizon

A wooden boat with no oars
Abandoned on the shore

On the oak’s trunk
An old scar
In the shape of a heart

Cold water
Over colored stones

sad poem. very sad.
I try not to live ahead of time because it make me getting old sooner!!

This is too sad.

"On the oak’s trunk
An old scar
In the shape of a heart"

See how hot a heart can get?! it burns.

Butr now, the only word with warm sense is "colored".

A friend told me to look at poems like this as a series of images.  That helps me apprieate this, good images.

For me at least, this 'write' and others by this author constitute
fine and effective Zen poetry that I can relate to on very many levels.

very serious and long-sustained applause!!

Thank you all

I try to avoid telling a story
in my poems.  Rather I like to let a
moment look around in its mood
and then let the reader decide what
if any story there is.

Thanks again

John
