      Change and Sorrow

Somewhere…

[North of a languid,
   sea-bound river;
  South of Polaris;
  West of tomorrow;
  East of the setting sun;]

lies this timescape moment
  of gentle reflection,
beneath a vacant-blue moon…
as a cool breeze of Autumn’s
  promise
rustles leaves, hearts, and
  dreams
in these evening shadows,
where loneliness is my affair
and “melancholy…the curse
  of the thinking classes!”

Well, being a melancholic soul, I felt immersed in your beautiful words.
I wonder however if melancholy is a consequence of thinking or if it is an inborn quality that sometimes surfaces and grips our souls (... who probably have that mysterious yearning for what they know to exist, but can't recall completely ...)

Love,
Margherita

"in these evening shadows,
where loneliness is my affair"

~ Yet, you share it so serenely.

The view through your eyes is always a beautiful sight to behold.

I enjoy the North, South, East & West of your writing.

Especially enjoyed:

"[North of a languid,
   sea-bound river;
  South of Polaris;
  West of tomorrow;
  East of the setting sun;]

lies this timescape moment
  of gentle reflection,"

What a handsomely written, well-crafted piece! Your compass, Poet, always points true.
