Lumpy Oatmeal makes me Crazy!

Silvery strands of sleep drift just out of reach,
ever illusive, floating into the black chasm of moonless nights,
leaving behind only a collection of whispered memories.

Memories which taunt the mind’s edge with a spider touch.

Captured memories that dance among particles of day dreams,
weaving a tapestry out of threads of realism;
and braiding borders from a basket of old emotions.

Eyes gaze upon horizons forever out of reach

But, spirit, relentless and strong, pushes closed windows wide,
offering the freedom to inhale the aroma summer’s raspberries
melding with cranberries, blood-red on autumn’s bushes.

Frosted air bites at sensitive skin, licks away the taste of salt,

and beckons silken threads of memories to free-fall,
to catapult into the breeze of dawn’s early hour;
leaving behind only a breath of tomorrow’s promise.

A most fine ‘write’!

I especially LOVE:

“Silvery strands of sleep drift just out of reach,
ever illusive, floating into the black chasm of moonless nights,
leaving behind only a collection of whispered memories…

…which taunt the mind’s edge with a spider touch.”

AND the image of:

….memories…free-fall(ing…)

leaving behind only a breath of tomorrow’s promise”

Serious, sustained applause!!
