You took my hand
(that day)
we strolled between
the trumpets and sea

on deck we drank
from dotted lines
intoxication filled
the sunstruck
strangers,

hidden clouds
declined to grey

our skins suspended
eyes on gulls
the interception
for the the blinding
sign that never came

stranded in this stilllife,
we watched the bay

the searching stars
would fail to write
new constellations

not quite diving in
sitting sideline
watching ocean stretches

its ocillations,
from the foam that simmers
to the great white way

it seems
dear friend,
we never drenched
the sand,
shying clear
from the grit of footprints

alas
this kit glove love

nothing to be buried

not much
for the waves
to wash away.

You have created a very captivating atmosphere.

I also love the ending, though it's heavy with melancholy.

Special!

Brooklyn Gal... great words that say much.
