That’s What Brings Me Back To You
By: Noah Eaton

.
.
.
.
.
...is any one of you sick...

...is your faith a candle in the wind...

...is there any pillar on your porch,

that can hold you up in this moment of brokenness...

...I know that it never feels right...

...you don’t have to bleed yourself dry...

...may I take the liberty...

...in taking your suffering and griefs,

and make them mine tonight...
.
.
.
.
.
...and it’s you that still rocks the cradle...

...and it’s your warmth I feel in the blue of the moon...

...that’s what brings me back to you...

.
.
.
.
.
...when you’re waiting for the parting of the fog...

...when two rights only seem to make it wrong...

...when you want to sing but you can’t remember any song...

...you’re always invited to tag along...
.
.
.
.
...the shivering of your hands...

...the sweat pouring from your glands...

...I can understand...

...we are all patients...

...in need of comfort where we stand...
.
.
.
.
.
.
...and it’s you that still rocks the cradle...

...and it’s your warmth I feel in the blue of the moon...

...that’s what brings me back to you...
.
.
.
.
.
.

.
.
.
.
.
.
you’re the warmth...

...in all these tears I’ve cried...

...may I take your suffering and griefs,

and make them mine tonight...
.
.
.
…you’re the warmth...

...in all these tears I’ve cried...

I’ll uphold you,

with my righteous right hand,

tonight...
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

...you’re the warmth...

...in all these tears I’ve cried...

...I’ll help you find a chord in your mind,

that you can recite...
.
.
.
...you’re the warmth...

...in all these tears I’ve cried...

...you’re what keep them burning bright...
.
.
.

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
...it’s you that still rocks the cradle...

...and it’s your warmth I feel in the blue of the moon...

...and that’s what brings me back to you...

Nice thoughts from a compassionate heart...thanks for the charity connections...I would like to donate to a responsible local government.  I know that local people become attached to their geographical locations but I hope that they build responsibly in areas that are above sea level...those that build below sea level will bring new heartbreaks upon themselves and future generations...James

It is human nature to want to bury memories that are painful to recall. However, those who live the continued nightmare, need all of our support, and to do so, we must keep the memories alive and continue to due what we can.

Thank you, Noah Angel, for this compassionate post and for the links. Many of us have contributed to the cause in the past, but you have reminded us that there is still a need for us to continue to do so.

With love and compassion for all who have suffered in the wake of Katrina,

EA
