Come in, come in, my gift to you,
I’ll tell you of my world
that suffers both the young and old
to lay down in my heart
the very many stones
of grief and misery.

”Oh, ‘tis a burden; why on you
this weight not of your own?”
and I felt again the cold
of a disembodied soul
unable or not willing
to know of empathy.

So sighed I then most quietly
and softly closed the door
on a different viewpoint
of what the people need
and returned again within
saddened yet determined
to keep the coldness out.

No wrong, no right, to attitudes
because everyone deals differently
into the human pot
and wins the hand or not
but better maybe sup alone
than keep company with “cold”.

'Tis true. Different strokes for different folks! Mind you, I too would rather sup alone than keep company with those who are cold-spirited!

Now you are one, with whom I would gladly sup!

Agreeing with JL's assessment, Helen....better to sup alone than with the cold.  Erry feel about this one; kind of set the shivers up my back.   ....jo

Come in, dear Linda, let's eat!

Hi Jo - some people can set shivers up a spine but we simply have to close the door and always remain true to ourselves, our attitudes, perceptions, etc., because right or wrong they are ours to own and to take responsibility for.

Thank you both for the read!  *Hugs* Helen

Very profound considerations, dear Helen.
Though we always have this need to attempt to restore harmony in our relationships, we are still "a world apart" and sometimes we need to close to "coldness", in order to restore ourselves, our own integrity. And this task is accomplished always together with our divine assistants. They never leave us alone.

Significant write!

Love,
Margherita

Thank you Margherita!  I needed to hear the "not alone" bit tonight.  They do, however, speak in strange tongues and symbols but slowly, slowly, I'm beginning to understand - just give me another few lifetimes.

As soon as we "open up" to them, the learning process begins and it is a fascinating one!
Between lifetimes we know perfectly well though ... I am sure!
Hugs.
