     Rhythms and Patterns

Waves grasp the sky
(disturbing cloud reflections)
in the last light of the
  setting sun.

Delicious scents tap at
  evening-star windows.

Distant lightning flashes
bisect the winds of time.

The lake offers itself
  in sanctuary
to the rippling moonlight.

The night-mind untangles,
  free of all yearning.

Shadows trail the dawn,
  lingering nowhere.

Day flows to sunset,
revealing only...
  fixity of change!
