Memories We Made Together

The year nineteen ninety six
Early in the month of May
Over here way past midnight
As you arose for the day

I was always one day ahead
From a vast ocean away
Yet we found we could reach
Both by night and by day

Having always found the time
In sharing day and night
We connected heart to heart
Always with love and light

Hearts travelled the distance
With love shore to shore
Memories we made together
I will cherish forevermore

As I look back remembering
Fond recollections remain
For the heart in which I write
Is etched with your name
