The last spark of love
In my heart for you has died,
As you sit there,
Blank faced, emotionless..........
As if, you hadn't lied.

Oh, what a cruel and heartless world
This is,
BETRAYED by my "best friend"
She sits and says nothing,
While my marriage comes to an end.

How dare you even look at me?
With a SMILE on your face?
You ask me for my FORGIVENESS?
YOU ARE SUCH A DISGRACE.

The anger and resentment
Is more then I can bear,
The damage you have done to me~~~~
You DON'T EVEN CARE.

"The truth shall set you free"  I hear,
Well~~~let's give that a whirl,
With ALL of your affairs exposed,
And your lies are all unfurled.

Oh,
But a tangled web we weave today.
As the truth finally comes out.
You are nothing but a tramp I see,
Of this,
There is NO doubt.

Keep your distance from me "friend"
As I "retaliate" in kind,
Your betrayal destroyed my marriage
And damaged my heart and mind.

Funny how we tend to blame the other woman more than the man...

when neither are worth the expended energy.

Nice writing...A failed relationship that leaves lots of emotions to be dealt with, the loss of trust, of friends and family, the pain and its suffering and the response to the arousal of anger...the discovery that forgiveness is for yourself, to return to a place where a heart can be put back together...and the realization that no one is perfect and at times we all fail...James
