         Eternal Flux

Evening weaves…
its luminous-twilight tapestry
of sunset dreams…and stars…
  and moonlit fantasies
above a fine forest canopy,
as the soft, dark-wooded wonders
  of night
settle the soul and tease
  the lonely mind.
One tastes the seductive scent
  of ultimate ‘truth’…
that the only real peace
lies in final acceptance
of infinite, eternal flux
in the rhythms of Nature
  and time,
where our finite fears
  and schemes
matter not…
to a new, awakening dawn,
when the high clear moon
sings his song of parting love
to the rising morning star!

Stunningly beautiful!
Bruce, this is positively uplifting! Grin, though some may not agree, I am happy that nature is beyond our schemes...

"that the only real peace
lies in final acceptance
of infinite, eternal flux
in the rhythms of Nature
  and time,
where our finite fears
  and schemes
matter not…"

I always think of your poems as paintings because i can see everything so vividly. I enjoyed this, just as I have all the others.

Bruce, I literally could quote each exquisite line as a favorite, in my response to this breath-taking piece of poetic expression!
